Windows Live Mail is a Desktop email client for Windows users, however I find it tedious, so I started to use Gmail. I would like to show you how you can import email to gmail.
Problems started when I always seem to get multiple copies of my emails in the inbox, and when I received emails, I was not able to click on some URL links in the email message. I started to use Gmail web based email client, rather than a desktop email client, and I was amazed with some of its features. What if you were on the road all the time? How could you manage to keep track of all your emails?
Most of us use multiple emails, whether it be for work, or for personal use. It can become troublesome to manage multiple emails, especially if you use multiple service providers, such as Yahoo, Hotmail or your Internet Service Providers (ISP) email. if you ever wanted to learn how to migrate your email to Gmail there is an easier way to manage all these emails with the one email. Today, I’d like to show you how easy it is to import your email contacts to Gmail
Importing Email into Gmail
The first thing you probably will want to do if have not already done so, is set up email account with Gmail, which is for free. Then you can follow this step by step tutorial to import all your emails into Gmail.
Step 1: Log into your Gmail email account using your web browser such as Internet Explorer.
Step 2: Click on the settings ICON in the right hand corner.
Step 3: Click on the label “settings” in the drop down menu
Step 4: In the Settings Menu, Click on the “Accounts and Import” Tab as shown below.
Step 5: Under this menu, you are able to import all different types of emails. Depending on what emails you have. You will be able to import your mail and even your contacts list from other providers.
ACCOUNTS AND IMPORT
In this section, I will explain how to Import your email accounts.
Part 1: Import mail and Contacts
Here you will be able to import your mail and contacts list from most service providers such as yahoo, and Hotmail even your ISP POP Email.
- To Import email from another source such as yahoo or Hotmail: Click on where it says “Import from another address”
A Popup screen will appear to ask you for your email, enter your username and email you want to import, click continue, at this point it will ask for your emails password and then it will start to import. It may take up to a few days to import email messages.
Part 2: Adding a POP Email Account
POP – Post office Protocol, is a common protocol for email clients, they are used mostly by Internet Service Providers to deliver your email message to you. You can have your Internet Service Providers (POP) email setup in Gmail.
Setting a POP email:
In the section “Check Mail from Other Accounts using POP3” click where it says to “Add a POP3 mail account you own”
You will then be required to follow the online wizard to add a POP email account .

Gmail has many additional features, just like windows live, but if you are looking for an alternative email client even if it isn’t windows live, Gmail is the way to go, getting a Gmail email address is simple, and it’s an easy to use system.
